There has been a substantial £1.6 Million contract given to Renfrewshire council for reinvestment into the community and almost half is being given to the redevelopment of the McKillop Institute in Lochwinnoch, with the rest being shared between the Elderslie Village Hall and the South end Action Centre in paisley.

The McKillop Institute, on the busy high street, will benefit from new doors and windows, electrical rewiring and alarm systems, with new roofing and solar panels put in place.
Local Labour councillor Derek Bibby is looking forward to seeing the results, as he said: “The McKillop is at the heart of the village and is vitally important to community clubs and after school clubs. I hope it will help the Village residents come together and get back to their usual routine after their struggles with the Pandemic.”
The residents are hoping it is back up and running soon as a Lady who lives in the village said:” I'm so excited for the town hall to be reopened, I go to a weight watchers club every Thursday there and I've definitely missed it.”
It is not known when the community centre will reopen, residents are hopeful that all the work will be completed by December in time for the festive activities.
