Football For Good

Colleges in Glasgow have teamed up with White Ribbon UK to put together a 5-a-side football tournament with hopes of a fun day to raise awareness on gender-based violence in Glasgow.

The event was set up in partnership with colleges in Glasgow and was a big hit, with lots of students turning out to have some fun with their classmates and all for a great cause!

The City of Glasgow College tournament ran from midday to 1.30 pm, giving participants a chance to play a minimum of

5 games, The top four teams then qualified to play in the Glasgow College Regional tournament which took place on the same afternoon from 1.30-3 pm. The winners from the regional tournament received the Regional Cup and were all invited to the City of Glasgow’s College Scholars Restaurant for a free 3-course meal.

The day was action-packed with a lot of the great games of football and many great educational opportunities for the students with stalls being set up by the charity, speeches by representatives, and students sharing their own experiences.
